Specifically, for an agreed upon low monthly fee, a company will have unlimited access to a highly trained specialist for general advice/guidance with respect to its international trade operations. International Trade Outsourcing: We help companies reduce costs/liability related to international trade by helping them manage the process. Specifically, for a cost-effective monthly fee, companies select the international trade functions and deliverables they want us to perform. The types of services that we perform include compliance and planning related work.
Compliance: We help companies comply with international trade laws and regulations including filing requirements, while simultaneously improving efficiency and managing the risk of penalty exposure.
Planning: Outsourcing all or part of the international trade function means a company gains instant access to a highly trained specialist who is focused on becoming truly familiar with the company's products, operations and supply chain. Because of the close interaction we have with a company, we are uniquely positioned to identify planning initiatives that save money on customs fees, duties payable, etc, and, in some cases speed the transit of goods.
◆ Unlimited legal advice and guidance regarding day-to-day import/export operations;
◆ Handle Requests for Information and Notices of Action issued by the government;
◆ Handle Notices of Seizures and Notices of Detention issued by the government;
◆ Handle Notices of Investigation, Assessment, or Audit issued by the government;
◆ Draft and file U.S. Customs Binding Ruling Requests, BIS export license applications, BIS commodity classification requests, etc;
◆ Draft and file Prior Disclosures;
◆ Assist with the reconciliation process to ensure that designated entries are properly reconciled;
◆ Assist in conducting internal import/export assessments/audits (includes assisting in generating audit reports and setting forth recommendations – if applicable);
◆ Assist in implementing and/or performing annual Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (“C-TPAT”) update as well as assisting with U.S. Customs C-TPAT Validation Review;
◆ Assist in implementing the Importer Self-Assessment Program (“ISA”) or performing annual ISA audits;
◆ Perform post-entry reviews of import/export documentation (ensuring accurate recordkeeping);
◆ Conduct import/export compliance training – as needed (includes maintaining materials on file of such past training sessions);
◆ Update - as needed - written internal import/export procedures and controls (e.g., Import/Export Compliance Manual, C-TPAT Manual, etc);
◆ Provide assistance/guidance in the event of an import/export audit, assessment, or investigation;
◆ Monitor legislation, court cases, customs rulings, alerts, etc. that may impact a company’s import/export operation, as well as draft updates discussing same for dissemination to relevant company personnel; and
◆ Identify duty-savings opportunities.
